Snow angels and snowmen, for instance. What fun things can you do in the snow?
Around here I just get a break from mowing because the grass doesn't grow in the winter months. My yard stays in suspended animation until spring. Now I have tons of yard work to do. Going to go work on that in a bit.
In your city do they also have "articulated" busses which they insist on driving around in the snow? That's a real riot to watch them on a snowy hill. Of course they never expect it to snow in Seattle.I looooove snow. I just hate it when the fucking place I live is incompetent and doesn't prepare for it, creating gridlock traffic and forcing people to abandon their vehicles, which makes a normal commute turn into 8+ hours. Can you tell this is happened here multiple times? Lol.
Basically what happens in Seattle is what happens in Portland. Lots of ding dongs driving when they shouldn't be, but it sounds like Portland's response might be a little bit worse, especially in this last round of snow back in February. In your city do they also have "articulated" busses which they insist on driving around in the snow? Welcome to the club, FoN.I have a love/hate relationship with snow. I like snow itself. It makes for beautiful photography and it's fun to play in. I hate driving in it, working in it, and the cold that comes with it.
And after posting this yesterday, guess what I woke up to today?Snow looks lovely and I had great fun in it as a kid (and even as a parent of a kid). But then I have to shovel my drive and, yeah, the beauty and fun kind of get sucked out of it.

Thank God, no. I hate ice unless it's where it belongs ... in an arena. We had a enough snow to make everything pretty and white. It kept falling through the day, but also got warm enough that it stopped accumulating and started melting. An ice storm?

As a lifelong Chicagoan, I love the snow!
Not a big fan of snow. Not a big fan of winter either...but right now it's starting to snow here.
The snow is just about the only thing the City hasn't sold to a foreign investment firm.
But give them a chance.
I respect you for posting these articles, but this is really not the time or place for this.Let's see:
Parking meters:
Chicago Selling Its Parking Meters To Morgan Stanley Has Been A Disaster For The City
In retrospect, giving an investment bank complete control over a city's parking meters for 75 years might not be a great idea.jalopnik.com
The Tollway:
Chicago Skyway sold — again — generating windfall for beleaguered taxpayers
The latest ownership change is expected to generate about $25 million in real estate transaction taxes, enough to cut in half Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s $42.7 million property tax increase — though the mayor’s office refused to say how the funds would be used.chicago.suntimes.com
One of the public housing deals:
Section 8 Housing Complex on Chicago’s West Side Sold For $14.5M
A Section 8 housing complex on Chicago’s West Side sold for $14.5 million to a buyer who got an $18.9 million loan.therealdeal.com
How's that for a start?
*glances over at @DrLeftover and @KenDaGamer* Doc, I tried playing the slag Chicago game over on his board and lost; yes, bashing Chi-town is a popular pastime in some parts but relax y'all. We're here to talk about snow, right?
Anytime, as a lifelong Appalachian fellow, I love snow. What I don't love is ice.
